Human vs machine proofreading

There is no substitute for a human proofreader. If you’re serious about your writing you should never rely solely on Spellcheck or AI to find errors – only a person can do that perfectly. Without a brain and the ability to think like us, computers just can’t write like us. And if you’re not sure that being error-free is all that important, think again!

As a writer, you’re probably pretty good at using words to craft stories. You may or may not be as good at getting them technically correct. If you go ahead and publish without hiring a professional proofreader to go over everything first, you’ll likely end up with a book riddled with errors. This will annoy your readers, potentially making them give up on your otherwise excellent book.

If you want to look like a professional writer, hiring a professional proofreader is a good way to go about it. It might cost more than you want to spend, especially when a machine can check all your words for free, but readers will know if you take yourself seriously – if you take them seriously – enough to pay a pro to make the reading experience easier and more enjoyable.

Don’t let mistakes ruin your look and dash your literary dreams!
