Jasmine Monk grew up in a scenic country town along the Great Ocean Road. Her love of writing started in her childhood years, along with a love of art and dancing. It was not until Jasmine’s twenties that she was published in several anthologies as well as receiving a grant for her own book.

Later Jasmine penned a few songs for a couple of local musicians. Through those years she worked as an early childhood educator and now currently works as a domestic cleaner. After developing a mental illness since she was 17, Jasmine found herself writing a lot more: “some parts of myself I am only able to or willing to express through writing”.

“Writing has always been a consuming passion, as well as an outlet for expression on my thoughts and feelings. Writing is my way of putting my life into perspective, as well as being therapeutic for me. I truly hope that my poetry will resonate with readers, or touch them in some way as I am moved by the words of other writers.”
