Lots of ideas for Self Publishing

Virtual MeetUps for these strange COVID times

The first SelfPub Aus MeetUp – held over Zoom due to the COVID crisis – generated a wealth of ideas and discussion topics. Despite it being Good Friday and the usual hour for the pub (in non lockout times!) we had a great mix of people, from experienced authors and self-publishers to new writers starting out on their publishing journey.

Some of the topics discussed included:

  • the use of Pinterest Groups and Facebook Groups for author promotion
  • getting a profile on Amazon Author Central (a separate setup to KDP)
  • the rise of audiobooks as a new and fast-growing market

And many more.  Thanks to everyone who took part, and please do send feedback: questions, requests, suggestions, all-out criticism – bring it on!

As mentioned and to reiterate, we’re not a business or a profit-making entity, but a purely community hub just to help one another out. So if any authors out there would like to share a blog or have their own profile up – see Maria’s here – you’re very welcome – it’s free. Your page (think of it as a micro-site) can also include links to your regular blog and social profiles and other relevant links.

Also if you’d like to blog directly on the site you’re welcome – just get in touch and we’ll set you up with a log-in. It’s set up so your own blogs can go just on your page, or on the site as a whole if they’re of general interest.

We look forward to seeing you all next Friday, and have a great Easter.
