A book sets sail in Bali

Author Peter Murphy‘s book made its debut at this year’s Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.

Lands End For Orders – A True Tale of Innocence Overboard:

My dreams of joining the British Merchant navy and strolling the deck in a white uniform, are shattered by a punch in the mouth within hours of boarding my first ship. This is the true story of how I traveled across the world as a cadet on a Tramp Ship in the British Merchant Navy in 1961. From South America, where I witnessed the terror of the military, to the South China Sea, where the ship almost sank in massive waves in a typhoon, and on to Okinawa, where the ship caught fire, we lurched from one disaster to another.

The event featured several Australian and Australia-based authors.
