I Have Been Here Before!
We have been here before.
Man is making progress as we supposedly have done for millennia.
We have had our wars and anger.
Our invasions and inventions.
We tamed animals and changed their beings as if we were their creators.
Everyone looks so serious as if they are doing the most important tasks.
The homes and the cars are smart, that’s what they call them, I don’t believe that,
The phones and computers are smart,
That’s what they call it, I don’t believe that either.
The games we play are more sophisticated than before.
We are still chasing each other like dogs on-heat but in more sophisticated ways.
And then I ask myself, where am I standing in this universe?
And I have been here before too.
Everyday I am asking myself what for,
If what I am doing is not aligned with harmony?
The insatiable games of instincts, primitive desires and frustration of not having them.
And then I ask myself what for?
Where are the heroes?
Where are those over achievers and their achievements?
All the winners and losers are all long gone and when you ask me about my achievements, I am not sure about their significance anymore. What I am today comes with a story and apart from that it’s nothing else. Neither the descendants, nor money, nor assets nor titles, will create any legacy, never adding anything extra to the content of the present. They are only the wrapping papers. A smoke, in the shape of clouds and they all will disappear when the wind blows. An illusion!
What I know is we have been here before, you and I, alongside others. And we are not going anywhere, as we never have and we never will.
And I have been here, at this familiar spot, asking the same questions; but something may change this story forever, and that could be if and only if I navigate my path through and move on.
