Hermit of Pleasure

Hermit of Pleasure

After one, two, thousands or more days of
Hiking, rafting and climbing;
Crossing many lands of false hopes,
Where lies were the true currency;
After encountering
The man’s best friend:
A barking dog, or
Psychologists as paid friends;
In a strange world of development,
A novelist invents Big Brother,
And people laugh, as if it is a joke,
And progress builds better bombs,
Somewhere even smiles are taxed,
I came out of a dark tunnel,
Or was it a bad dream I woke out of?
I reached the highest peak,
Even higher than Mount Everest,
But no need for warm clothes,
Nor oxygen tanks,
I could breathe and eat Asha
And like the sun,
Even my waste was light.

Perhaps this was the seventh or ninth sky,
Spoken of among novice believers.

I wondered how it would be to settle there,
Then I heard one hand clapped;
A bird carried not twigs but logs
And the winds brought not sand but the stones,
An entrance of white walls with the shades of blue
And an iron gate as soft as honey hives
With scrollwork curved in the form of lilies
And a sign:

“Enter only if you have a key;
The key is under the pot plant”.

Once I stepped inside,
Only an aura of grace, no pretence,
I saw whatever I wanted to see,
Yet, I desired the abundance of void,
A white canvas,
And a jar of Indian black,
From which I could extract red, gold, blue
And even platinum white.

If one is in the dark,
No matter if in a palace or a dungeon,
Surrounded with the finest and most beautiful artwork
Or with the scariest products of modern art,
But here, the light never dies.

No matter if I close my eyes
Or keep them open,
This monastery of light
Won’t fade away.

In my new found home,
Silence is my companion,
You are welcome to come in,
But silence is sleep,
Make sure you won’t disturb Him.

Yet there is a real game,
No direction,
No pin on any maps.
With a thousand years of fasting,
And sleeping on the broken glass,
Or drinking from a holy chalice
Or following a holy grail,
You certainly waste
The only opportunity in hand.
But if you live truthfully,
You will see:

No bad nature if a true nature.
Good and bad are only in interpretation;
A shark doesn’t bite out of malice.

In the nest of joy,
Freshness is a must,
We have to clean
Not every day,
But every second,
Not only the floor,
But every single stone,
But this doesn’t need scrubbing,
Brooms are your eyes.
And the ritual is extremely harsh:
Never stop smiling.

Don’t forget:
“Enter only if you have a key;
The key is under the pot plant”.

Caminar, navegar y escalar;
Cruzando muchas tierras de falsas esperanzas,
Donde las mentiras eran la verdadera moneda;
Tras encontrarme
Con el mejor amigo del hombre:
Un perro que ladra, o
Psicólogos como amigos pagados;

Me pregunté cómo sería establecerme allí,
Entonces oí una mano aplaudir;

“Entra solo si tienes una llave;

Eres bienvenido a entrar,
Pero el silencio es sueño,
Asegúrate de no despertarlo.

Sin embargo, hay un verdadero juego,
Sin dirección,
Sin alfiler en ningún mapa.
Con mil años de ayuno,
Y durmiendo sobre el vidrio roto,
O bebiendo de un cáliz sagrado
O siguiendo un santo grial,
Ciertamente desperdicias

El bien y el mal están solo en la interpretación;
Un tiburón no muerde por malicia.

En el nido de la alegría,
La frescura es imprescindible,
Tenemos que limpiar
No cada día,
Sino cada segundo,
No solo el suelo,
Sino cada piedra,
Pero esto no necesita frotarse,
Las escobas son tus ojos.
Y el ritual es extremadamente duro:
Nunca dejes de sonreír.

No olvides:
“Entra solo si tienes una llave;
La llave está bajo la maceta”.
