What is in a name? That, which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.
I have a poem I wrote some time ago for which a friend of mine, composer Heidi Arapa, made beautiful music.
In 2017 I won a short story competition run by Lane Cove magazine The Village Observer
If I came from the right side of town,
Would I be the girl for you
I was the kind to rush in,
Only to run away, run away
There’s trouble rising,
My heart’s in retrograde.
Under the skin of your emotion
Is a blackened space,
Your heart dims shadow places
Alone again it’s a slumber-less night.
All this moonlight makes for a strange romance
Your mind is a wonderland,
A candy store,
Like a child, I scream for more.
